Our History
Driven by her family’s struggle to navigate the condition and find reliable resources, Katherine Manley established the organization to ensure others wouldn’t face the same fear and confusion alone.
In 1985, Katherine Manley founded Epilepsy Kingston after her daughter, Jessica, was diagnosed with epilepsy.
In 2009, to reflect the broader region served, we became the Epilepsy & Seizure Disorder Resource Centre of Southeastern Ontario.
In 2015, we shortened our name to Epilepsy South Eastern Ontario.
Initially based in the Manley family’s basement, Epilepsy Kingston quickly gained community support and relocated to Kidd House at 100 Stuart St., where it operated until April 2016.
We continue to grow, providing essential support to individuals and families impacted by epilepsy and seizure disorders throughout the region.
Today, we are located at 993 Princess St., Unit 14 - Suite 1430.
