It was founded in 2008 by 9 year old Megan Cassidy in Nova Scotia, Canada and has grown to involve people around the world who mark the day by participating in a variety of Purple Day awareness events and activities such as dressing in purple, having pourple themed parties, selling purple cupcakes, lighting their home in purple, and decorating their office in purple! Even the CN Tower and Niagara Falls are lit up in purple! What will you be doing to celebrate Purple day?
